FULL TIME: ENVIRONMENTAL/MAINTENANCE OFFICER
Core hours: Monday to Friday (37hrs per week, however the applicant needs to be flexible as occasional evening/weekend work will be required)
Salary Range: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum (Rate of pay is appropriate to skills and knowledge)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Job Purpose: To provide a clean, attractive, and safe environment for residents and visitors to the parish and its grounds under the direction of the Parish Council
Grange Park Parish Council are looking to recruit an experienced Groundsman. The successful candidate would have to have some horticultural knowledge and experience to carry out shrub bed maintenance, grass cutting, hedge trimming and general site maintenance to ensure grounds remain at a good standard. Certifications in Pa1 and Pa6, chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting is desirable but not essential as we would offer training for the ideal candidate.
In addition to grounds maintenance, you would be expected to assist and support the Head Caretaker to perform routine inspections of the buildings, fixtures, and fittings to determine whether any minor repairs or works are necessary to maintain a safe environment.
Occasionally, when the regular cleaner/keyholders are absent, you will be required to cover these responsibilities at the weekend. This would entail welcoming hirers into the community centre and pavilion and locking up after them. While hirer's clean up after themselves, you might be asked to perform some cleaning on busy days to make sure they are spotless for the subsequent booking.
