Great Place Positive Community

I've been fortunate to call Grange Park home for over 19 years, where I've raised my family and immersed myself in the community. During this time my family has greatly benefited from the many local groups and activities, enjoyed the beautiful outdoor spaces, and my children have had the pleasure of attending our excellent local school—all right here in Grange Park.

Over the years, I've been involved in a variety of initiatives, such as running the Parent and Baby Group, volunteering at the local primary school, and serving as a Beaver Scout Leader. Giving back to the community is a value that's deeply important to me, and it's the primary reason I became a Parish Councillor.

As a Parish Councillor, I find my role both fulfilling and varied. I've been involved in launching projects such as the Community Lunch Club, Menopause Support Group, and Community Litter Pick Group. I also organise regular Community Matters Meetings with local businesses and coordinate litter picks and corporate volunteering days, encouraging local engagement.

I have a deep appreciation for nature and the positive impact it has on both our well-being and the local wildlife. As a family, we created the Bertie Bottle Campaign to raise awareness about the growing litter problem, and we regularly litter pick around Grange Park. Additionally, I've written a children's book to highlight the problem with litter, and I often visit local libraries, schools, and community events to host book readings and complete craft activities with young people.

Additionally, I'm incredibly proud of my work with Baby Basics Northampton, a charity I was involved with for 10 years. I was honoured to receive the Special Recognition Award at the 2023 International Women's Day celebrations in Northamptonshire for my contributions to the charity.
