Why Have Street Lights Been Turned Off In Northampton ?

In Northamptonshire the county council is responsible for over 66,000 lights. A programme to reduce the cost of street lighting by 50 per cent in order to save £2 million was approved by the county council in February 2011. This was to contribute to the £73million of savings the council needed to make in 2011/2012. As well as making cash savings the initiative will also help the county council reduce its energy consumption and carbon footprint.

The only street lights within Grange Park that have been turned off (1 in every 3) will be on the adopted roads of Saxon Avenue, Part of Bridge Meadow Way and Wake Way. All other lights should be working - if not please email the parish council on parishclerk@grangeparkpc.org who will contact the developers. The Parish Council are also in liason with Northampton County Council regarding the lights which are located by bus stops and requesting that these be switched back on.

Foxfield Pavilion Premises Licence

We are pleased to announce that Grange Park Parish Council has been granted a Premises Licence for the Pavilion which opens on the Country Park in October. The licence enables a number of licensable activities to take place on the premises including the playing of recorded music and the sale by retail of alcohol.

The Parish Council is very mindful that the primary purpose of the Pavilion is for sporting activities and intends that any licensed activities that take place will be mainly by the Clubs and Associations that will be using the Pavilion and therefore the times licensable activities are able to be carried out are restrictive.

Sale by retail of alcohol: Monday - Sunday 12.00 - 9.30pm
Recorded Music: Monday - Saturday 9.00am - 9.45pm

The Pavilion will also not be used any later than 10.00pm on any evening. If you require any further information regarding this please do not hesitate to contact the Parish Council.
